Seattle braces for end of year holiday onslaught by Taylor Mac and Jinkx Monsoon

It’s summer and it’s hot. And unless we’ve pitched our raft over the climate change Niagara falls for good, one day it will not be summer and hot. One day it will be winter and raining.

If and when that happens – Seattleites have two big holiday shows featuring flamboyant performers to look forward to in December.

Looking way, way ahead (which you need to do when sold out shows are coming), you’ve got Taylor Mac at On the Boards for three nights only and Jinkx Monsoon and Major Scales back at Seattle Rep for three weeks.

Taylor Mac should sell right out. Boom. Here’s what an international star like Mac does on an August night like tonight.

You don’t want to miss either of these.

Three Days of Dazzle | Taylor Mac comes to Seattle’s On the Boards in December 2015

It’s never too early to plan ahead.

Especially when it involves one of the highlights of the Pacific Northwest performance calendar.

And especially when it involves seeing Taylor Mac at Seattle’s internationally acclaimed contemporary performance pioneer On the Boards.

That’s right. For just three days (December 10-12, 2015), @TaylorMacNYC is bringing the show to the Northwest.

And if you haven’t seen him before – when Taylor Mac is in the house, it is truly a SHOW.

This is why theatre and live performance will always exist. Because without the live experience, you would never be able to have something like this.

Rest assured, these will be three sold out nights of Seattle sensation.

And you better be there.

You've got three chances to catch Taylor Mac at On the Boards in December 2015.

Gob Squad invades Seattle with SUPER NIGHT SHOT at On The Boards

On the Boards, Seattle’s flagship home for contemporary performance, kicked off the 2014-15 season with a sold out one night only performance from Gob Squad.

SUPER NIGHT SHOT is an almost live urban adventure. Four roaming company members depart from the performance venue about an hour before the show with four cameras running continuously. They gather and craft an interwoven narrative of found and somewhat planned stories which they return with, running through the gathered audience outside the theatre. As the performance begins, all four feeds are projected side by side, and Gob Squad cuts back and forth with sound to highlight where the story is taking place.

An uplifting and energizing reminder that the world is nothing but stories, and that there is no clear line between watching and participating. Brilliantly fun.
