Looking back 25+ years on Manhattan’s AIDS epidemic | MOTHERS AND SONS by Terrence McNally on Broadway

For this play to work, you have to believe a dinosaur like Tyne Daly’s angry Katharine Gerard could still exist. A very old-fashioned structure where characters stand and deliver BIG SPEECHES. No doubt a lot has changed, but McNally’s demand that we look back and understand feels tired, boring.
