Weekend watch

The calendar is heating back up. Must be the threat of spring.

Continuing its extended run is MOTHER TERESA IS DEAD by Helen Edmundson at Portland Playhouse.

The always interesting Post Five Theatre is doing ARABIAN NIGHTS by Mary Zimmerman, directed by Philip Cuomo.

ANYTHING BUT BRILLIANT, a new show by Bobby Ryan, is on at Theater! Theatre!

Starting tonight for three nights, White Bird brings Paul Taylor Dance Company to town.

Back Fence PDX puts on a two night double header that sounds packed with fun:

Friday Back Fence PDX – BUT WAIT, IT GETS WORSE | 5 TRUTHS AND A LIE at Mission Theater
Saturday Back Fence PDX – RUSSIAN ROULETTE at Disjecta

There’s a discount code for Saturday’s show hidden away in yesterday’s interview with B. Frayn Masters, Back Fence PDX’s Host and Executive Producer.

Opening Friday from newly formed group The Reformers is THE POSSESSIONS OF LA BOITE.

Saturday night is the first preview for big show lumbering toward the lights on the PCS main stage, CLYBOURNE PARK by Bruce Norris. The Sunday night preview is pay what you will. So for as little as $1 you can see the show that has lit up London, New York, and many other cities in the last three years.

And remember, Monday is the Oregon Book Awards, produced by Literary Arts.
