Can’t touch this: Mark Bedard adapts and stars in THE COCOANUTS at OSF

And in keeping with the “All OSF, all the time” mania as opening weekend for the 2014 season approacheth (remember last summer’s “All RING, all the time” drumbeat for Seattle Opera?), here’s one guy to watch (out of many, many others).

Mark Bedard (Groucho in 2012’s ANIMAL CRACKERS) returns at OSF in 2014 as Mr. Hammer in his own adaptation of the 1929 Marx Brothers film (their first).

While purists may grumpily ask why, if forced to stoop to stage musical adaptations of films, OSF didn’t do something more highline and serious (like Bergman’s THE VIRGIN SPRING – presumably a lot of dirges in minor), chances are pretty good this show is going to knock your socks off – at least one of them to the top of Mt. Ashland. And possibly the other to Mt. Shasta.
