Thank goodness for Playwrights Horizons

If you’re a fan of new American plays, you probably know about and love New York’s venerable Playwrights Horizons. This is an outfit to cherish. They’ve been around for 42 years, but it’s still impressive every time you pay a visit (either virtually or in the flesh) and see how committed they are to new writing.

Plus now they’ve got a new web site that really looks sharp.

I want a PH on my block.

Here is the roster for 2012-13:

DETROIT by Lisa D’Amour
THE WHALE by Samuel D. Hunter world premiere
THE GREAT GOD PAN by Amy Herzog world premiere
THE FLICK by Annie Baker world premiere
THE CALL by Tanya Barfield world premiere
FAR FROM HEAVEN by Richard Greenberg, Scott Frankel and Michael Korie world premiere

Yes, please!

Woops – a search on Goggles reveals Charles Isherwood beat me to this punch. Here is his tribute to the mighty house of PH this year.
