It appears Portland theatre audiences are doing their part to end poverty at not one but two different theatre companies around town these days. First, there’s the new Sojourn Theatre show at Portland Playhouse just about to open. And second, there’s ENTER THE NIGHT from Portland Experimental Theatre Ensemble in inner SE Portland, ground zero to Portland’s homeless army. While the first show decides how to donate to the cause, at the second theatregoers may become unwilling funders by having their cars broken into while they watch the performance.
If you are headed to see the latest from PETE (which you are well advised to do), or anything else at Shaking The Tree’s new location at 823 SE Grant – be forewarned. There have been a number of smash and grabs from cars just outside the theatre. You will not want to leave anything – ANYTHING – visible in your car in that abandoned area at night.
